India’s second largest 2-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), is working hard to launch it’s new range of Activa scooters at a very competitive entry level price range to celebrate the success once again in the market.
The president of HMSI has conformed that there will be many more models that are under the development phase and will confirm the new products. The plan is to roll out a million EVs by 2030 to protect the environment from harmful gases and it will be a big step to save our environment.
The company may launch the vehicle in the options of batteries. Honda Activa Electric Vehicle may be available in the options that may carry the fixed battery or the swappable batteries. The HMSI is working with the its supply chain partners to build the entire vehicle in India only and reduce the dependency on imported parts to reduce the cost and easy offering easy availability of parts at a better cost and time duration.
HMSI is also eyeing big on exporting the vehicles outside the country to neighbouring nations. This will help the company to build huge volumes in the country to furnish the huge orders from the neighbours. The higher exports and manufacturing volumes will finally also help the local manufacturers to build huge volumes of local parts for the fleet of electric vehicles on Honda Activa or many other models of HMSI.
Right now the company has declined to share any range and timeline of launch of its electric 2-wheelers. The batteries and motors used in the Honda Electric Vehicles may deliver a top speed of 60kmph. The company also confirmed that the new range of EVs will be placed below the Honda Activa which come with a price tag between Rs.72,000/- to Rs.75,000/- (ex-showroom).
